1939年生れ。オーストリア＝クロアチアの家系で、ウィーン育ち。アンサンブル・ウィーン・ベルリン、ウィーン・コンチェントゥス・ムジクスおよびニューヨークのリンカーン・センター室内楽ソサエティーのメンバーである。指揮者としても、10年来、オーストリア、イタリア、英国、米国、日本、オーストラリア、台湾などで室内管弦楽団や大管楽アンサンブルを率いて活躍している。カメラータ・トウキョウよりバッハのフルート協奏曲を指揮したＣＤが今年発売された。また、ソリストとして世界中の著名なオーケストラや指揮者と共演、ザルツブルク、ウィーン、ニューヨーク、ＰＭＦなど世界各地の音楽祭にも定期的に出演している。これまでにソロ、室内楽、交響曲で200枚以上の録音盤を出している。主なものではシュトゥットガルト室内管弦楽団との共演や計4回録音したモーツァルトのファゴット協奏曲、ウェーバーのファゴット協奏曲などがある。執筆活動では3冊の本が出版され、2冊目の「コンチェントゥス・ムジクス」は日本語でもアルファベータ社より2006年に出版された。
   born in 1939 he originates from an Austro=Croatian Family and grew up in Vienna. Milan Turkovic is a member of the Ensemble Wien-Berlin, the Concentus Musicus of Vienna and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York. Since ten years he has been very active as a conductor, leading mainly chamber orchestras and large wind ensembles in Austria, Italy, England, the United States, Japan, Australia and Taiwan. Camerata Tokyo released the CD with Turkovic conducting flute concertos by the family Bach. He is also an active soloist performing all over the world with major orchestras. He regularly appears at important festivals including Salzburg, Vienna, Lucerne, Lockenhaus, Prades, New York and PMF (Japan). He can be heard on over 200 recordings with solo, chamber music and orchestra repertoire. The main recordings are Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto (four different recordings), Weber’s Bassoon Concertos with Sir Neville Marriner. His new CD “Bassoon Extravaganza“ (Camerata CMCD-15036/37) enjoys a great reputation. For 2 years he presented his own music show on Austrian TV. Turkovic is also active as a book author.
